My Americamp Adventure

Hello Everyone!

I'm Jade!

I am currently in my final year at Northumbria University studying Psychology.

I first came across AmeriCamp when my friend from dancing applied and travelled to the states for the summer back in 2015.

In September 2015, I took the plunge and applied for Americamp after a lot of consideration. Unfortunately, I had to defer my application until summer 2016! (You can check out my first ever blog post to find out about my disastrous 2015)

Around May/June 2016, I was able to pick up my application and re-do my interview and application video.

In October 2016, I was placed at French Woods Festival of Performing Arts camp at the first Manchester camp fair. French Woods is situated in a little town called Hancock in the Catskill mountains in New York State. I have completed 2 years at summer camp, and they were the best summers of my life.

I wanted to write this blog as a way of sharing my experiences with you all, not only with AmeriCamp, but the whole process surrounding it.

I know and understand how daunting it can be applying, I wanted to share all my knowledge with you as I wish I had somebody there to advise me, and talk me through the thorough process from an applicants perspective.
