You know you're at camp when...

Monday, July 31, 2017

Okay, so after 9 weeks in the states, i've noticed some perculiar things that become the norm at camp. Here are a mere few I have thought of, i'm sure if you read my previous blogs that you will notice a few more of your own haha.

1) Your water bottle no longer holds water to serve its purpose. Instead, it holds a collection of string for the 50 friendship bracelets your friends requested.

And Pink, blue and purple friendship bracelet string is like gold dust. Grab it, and run.

2) When the children are constantly chanting "GIVE IT TO ME ONE TIME" and doing their hand thing on the table. Every breakfast. Every lunch. And every dinner.

3) AUSSIE AUSSIE AUSSIE... NO NO NO, is also screamed at every meal.

4) You use heaps of fairy lights in the bunk to recreate the Blackpool illuminations. This masks the fact you are living in a wooden shed for 3 months. (My fairy lights continue down the wall and along my campers bed too).

5) Civilisation? What's that?? All i see for miles are the Catskill mountains. Snapchat even supports this fact.

6) You don't know whether you're looking after children, or if you're the child that needs looking after?

7) When there are finally donuts served for dessert and everyone goes barmey, so counselors have to appoint themselves as a donut server, so that children don't have a massive brawl over donuts. Absolute mayhem I tell ya.

8) You do not have a scooby doo clue what on earth is happening in the real world, because you're in this bubble - but you kinda like it.

9) When a day off eventually comes around, and you hit civilisation and realise how many absolute bangers you have missed in the charts.

10) You go through an insane amount of extreme emotions in one day. One minute you're homesick, never coming back to camp and almost crying in the middle of a class. And the next you're prancing around the dining hall table to Miley Cyrus' party in the USA, loving life and coming back to camp for the next 30 years. The latter is the most common emotion.

(P.s loving your moves Steph and Naomi)

It's a weird and wonderful life at camp! But I wouldn't change it for the world!

Bit of a different blog post today! My weekly diary blog will be up in the next few days!

Lots of love xox
