Wednesday 27th June

Today was 6 minor day again where the kids get to try out various activities. I however stayed in art all day teaching whilst it was absolutely freezing and pouring it down with rain.

Thankfully, evening activity was a Night with Josh meaning we got warm by dancing around to the likes of Selena Gomez and Maroon 5.

It is actually amazing to be reunite with my campers, alongside having new beautiful campers.

Thursday 28th June

Today was our first day of teaching in session 2. This session i’m also teaching Mosaics alongside Jewellery which i love.

We missed evening activity tonight as our bunk had a movie party in the video department. We watched easy-A which was a funny movie. It was nice to just have a chilled out movie night for a change.
Friday 29th June

Another typical and great day in the Frenchwoods art department. I cannot believe how hot it is this summer - despite the few days (and i mean very few) which have been cold.

We watched one of the carry over shows tonight for evening activity which was the Spitfire Grill. Oh my gosh. It was absolutely incredible!!! The talent those camoers have is amazing. It was definitely one of the best musicals i’ve ever seen, and every single one of those kids deserve to be on broadway!

Saturday 30th June

Another very hot day at Frenchwoods - not that i’m complaining. My tan is building up quite nicely haha.

Evening activity was name that broadway show which I must say, we did not do very well at. We did however have a great dance and sing along to hairspray, little shop of horrors and the greatest showman.

Sunday 1st July

Today was so insanely hot. So much so, that the timetable was shortened to let us go down to the lake for a general swim. I ended up covering myself with cold water from the taps in tie dye for the rest of the afternoon too, and Row (the head of art) also gained a hose pipe to sprinkle us with water.

In the evening, our bunk and a few others watched the Laramie project IN AN AIR CONDITIONED ROOM, YES! The Laramje Project was a great play based onca guy who was killed for being gay. It was very moving, and 2 of my first session campers were in it. They made me so proud.

Monday 2nd July

An even hotter day on the Frenchwoods campus.

We had a shortened day again so that we could go to the water front to sunbathe and cool off again which was so nice. I really wish we had the whole day there, it was so nice to just relax.

After dinner we had a s’mores party at the water Waterfront and evening activity was cancelled so we could have a pool party!

After the pool party, I headed back to the bunk to get ready to go to the cinemas to see incredibles 2. I cant really remember the first one very much but it was really good to say the least.

Tuesday 3rd July

Finally, a day off! It was soooo hot in the bunk last night, and we woke up to it being even hotter.

We headed to brunch and caught a lift into hancock with the kids who were going to the movies. We ran straight over the road to mcdonalds for an ice cream to cool off.

Afterwards, the rest of the gang wanted to find somewhere to watch the England match. We ended up in Little Italy which is a lovely little Italian restaurant.

Steph and I got bored of the football after a while, so we decided to relax in the square and sunbathe for the rest of the game... which was a LONG TIME! But, in the end England won, so it was worth it - and I could build up my tan haha.

Steph, Ashley and I went to Little Italy for dinner which was amazing - I just needed 2 stomachs for it! Afterwards, we went with the upper campers to re-watch the incredibles 2 which was just as good the second time around.

It was lovely just to chill out and have a relaxing day again.

All in all, it was a great first week of session 2! Sorry this post is so late, I haven’t found much time to write!
